Jeffery Broadhead

Jeff brings a wealth of multi-jurisdictional public, private, and nonprofit sector experience to the position of Executive Director of the Washington County Regional Planning Council. With a BA in Economic Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Washington and an Executive MBA from the University of Rhode Island, Jeff has developed excellent communication, analytical, and creative skills.
Jeff’s career spans both coasts, including two environmental and socio-economic consulting firms in Washington State where he authored numerous Environmental Impact Statements for projects as diverse as an urban mixed-use project, a landfill, numerous residential subdivisions, and a Pacific Ocean floor mining operation. While on the west coast he also worked for the City of Kent’s Planning Department and Seattle’s Department of Community Development. His duties included multi-governmental relations as well as interdepartmental coordination.
Moving home to the east coast, Jeff served as New Haven’s Director of Downtown and Harbor Development. He has consulted for major firms in RI and CT, and ran his own independent firm for almost ten years. In addition, he served as Executive Director for two nonprofit organizations, prior to WCRPC. Jeff lives along the coast of Narragansett with his wife, his son, and their dog.
Maura Sayre

Maura is an avid environmentalist with experience in the public school system, real estate management and development, and managing non profit organizations. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, a teaching certificate from Roger Williams University, and most recently, she received her Certification from the Master Energy Program at the University of Rhode Island. She brings excellent communication and management skills, understanding of public education, and attention to detail.
Maura’s career started in Providence working on developing incubator space for small businesses. She moved on to acquisition and management of commercial and residential real estate holdings throughout New England, for investment firms in Providence and Boston. As a Project Manager she was responsible for overseeing construction and development of various multi-family residential projects as well as 250,000 square feet of industrial redevelopment. She also has experience working in school administration as well as classroom teaching. She is the past President of the Board of Directors for the Willett Free Library, the current President of the Saunderstown Sewer Association, and member of The Nature Conservancy’s Women’s Sustainability Committee. Her strong sense of community and love of Rhode Island has her continually working on ways to bring people together and provide educational opportunities on important issues. Maura operates a small family farm in Saunderstown along with her husband and three sons.
